From the Pastor's Desk
We are living in a day when people are more disconnected than any other time in history. I believe that God wants us to be connected to Him and to each other. It is for this reason that we have developed our Connecting Point Ministries here at our church.
Connecting Points is designed to connect people in relationship with each other. In this hectic day in which we live, it’s easy to get so busy that we neglect the important matters. Too often the cares of this life keep up from developing positive, healthy relationships. Paul wrote in Ephesians 2:19, “You are members of God’s very own family, citizens of God’s country and you belong in God’s household with every other Christian.”
God calls us members of His family, but how can we be family members if we don’t have close relationships with each other? In these years that I’ve served as here, I’ve seen many people suffer in times of crisis because they did not have the support that strong relationships can bring. The fact of the matter is that it is impossible to develop relationships by coming to church and staring at the back of people’s heads. I believe that God wants us to get connected with each other.
Here at our church we have over 100 Connecting Point groups that are designed to help us develop relationships with one another. The most natural place for people to become connected is in the arena of similar interests. We all have things that we are interested in. These interests can be a basis for connecting with other people and developing happy, healthy relationships. I encourage you to come and get involved in one of these exciting groups.
I invite you to come and worship with us this Sunday and together you and I can work toward accomplishing the challenge that comes to us from the Word of God in James 3:18, “You can develop a healthy, robust community that lives right with God and enjoys its results only if you do the hard work of getting along with each other, treating each other with dignity and honor.”
